Our project will invest billions of dollars to develop a large-scale wind project supplemented with solar to directly power electrolysis and other related synthesis facilities to produce clean hydrogen in Niobrara County.

This “clean hydrogen” could be combined with carbon dioxide to create or synthetic fuels using well-established chemical processes.

The hydrogen and synthesis facilities will have a footprint of about 50 acres, and the wind project will include hundreds of the latest state-of-the-art wind turbines.

Our facilities are leasing land only from willing landowners and will not condemn or use eminent domain. Our project continues Niobrara County’s tradition of respecting landowners’ decisions about how they run their operations and use their land.

As one Wyoming landowner put it, "Leasing a portion of a ranch land for wind turbines or solar panels provides a steady, reliable income that can help offset rising property taxes, unpredictable weather impacts, and volatile commodity prices. This additional revenue doesn’t mean giving up ranching — it means ensuring it can continue. And with modern renewable energy projects that coexist with agricultural operations, there’s no need to choose between these ventures and our traditional practices."

SUPPORT FOR SIDEWINDER

Support for Clean Hydrogen Development

The WEA is an engaged stakeholder of the Sidewinder Clean Hydrogen Center. The Wyoming Energy Authority (WEA) is an advocate and champion of the energy industry. The WEA recognizes the significant potential of clean hydrogen energy and supports initiatives to support clean hydrogen development such as a request for proposals for a hydrogen pilot project and supporting a hydrogen energy research center at the University of
Wyoming School of Energy Resources.
